2021 Xi’an Beautiful Rural Area Toursim Festival and Zhouzhi Yulan Culture Tourism Event were launch

After winter, people is looking forward to going to nature to find the breath of spring. 2021 Xi’an Beautiful Rural Area Toursim Festival and Zhouzhi Yulan Culture Tourism Event were launched in Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark. Themed at protecting green hills and clear water and promoting rural area development, a series of tourist and culture activities were kicked off.

On the morning of March 18, the spring breeze is warm, the mountains are green, the king yulan tree is about to blossom, and guests from all directions gathered in the flower valley in Heihe scenic area of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark. Over 200 people from Xi’an Culture and Tourism Bureau, Xi’an Natural Resources and Planning Bureau, Xi’an Poverty Alleviation Office, Xi’an Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Xi’an Bureau of Qinling Protection, Ecological Toursim Office of Shaanxi Forestry Bureau, Zhouzhi County Party Committee, Zhouzhi government, press circles and culture circles joined the launch ceremony.

After the launch ceremony, public welfare promotion activities were held, which were themed at the promotion of rural area tourism and the protection of Qinling and Huanghe. And then a series of activities were held, which mainly included three parts, i.e first, publicizing yulan by photographing, drawing or writing activities; second, performance of Tai Chi, Guzheng and tea art etc; third, free tickets for visiting king yulan tree, writing competition of the beautiful scenery in yulan valley, free visits of WWF Qinling Nature School and forest exploration hall etc.

The Millennium King Yulan is located in the yulan valley of Heihe scenic area of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark. The tree is more than 1,200 years old, 27 meters high and 5.3 meters in chest girth, which cannot be hugged by three adults. Branches of the yulan cover an area of about 1,100 square meters, which earns it the reputation of King Yulan. In March, yulan shoots are about to grow, thousands of flowers are in full bloom, white like snow and pink like sunglow, which are spectacular and beautiful. The millennium king yulan is the oldest yulan tree found so far in China, with the thickest trunk, the biggest branches, and the most beautiful flower color.
