Science Popularization Events in Schools

March is the science popularization month in China. Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark carried out science popularization events in primary and middle schools in Xi’an. The events were themed at helping students get to know Qinling and then protect Qinling, and in further inspired students’ passion for going to nature and exploring science.

Considering the young ages of students, the science popularization mainly covers basic knowledge of plants and animals, geology and wilderness survival etc. Students gained knowledge through colorful science exhibitions, interesting professional lectures, positive interactions and meaningful practice courses.

By joining in the science popularization events, students had a better understanding of Qinling, more knowledge of geology, thankful feelings towards nature and passions and love for Qinling. In future, the geopark will hold more such events to promote the awareness and influence of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark and the research-in-travel brand of Qinling International Juvenile Camp
