Mountain Danxiashan, a UNESCO Global Geopark and a World Natural Heritage site, is located in Shaoguan City of Guangdong Province, covering a total area of 292km². It is the naming place of danxia landscape which is characterized by well development of reddish cliffs in the continental conglomerates and sandstones. The word “Danxia” means the reddish cliffs look like rosy clouds, and Danxiashan is therefore known as “Red Stone Park of China”. More than 680 scattered peaks form a stunning natural scenery of red cliffs with clear waters, green trees, blue sky, and white clouds. Danxiashan is also National Nature Reserve, National Scenic Area, Member of Chinese Biosphere Reserves Network (CBRN), and National AAAAA Tourist Attraction.
