On November 14, the fifth edition of “Let the World See the Qinling Mountains”—the Qinling Mountains Ecological and Cultural Protection Promotion Series (2025-2026)—was officially launched at the Cuihuashan Scenic Area within the Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark. Attendees including Hao Yanhong, Second-Level Inspector of the Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission; Xue Yazhou, Deputy Director of the Xi’an Qinling Ecological and Environmental Protection Administration; and Wang Xingzhou, event advisor and Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Calligraphers Association, delivered speeches at the event.
In her address, Hao Yanhong emphasized that the Qinling Mountains, as the “ancestral pulse of the Chinese nation,” are both an ecological treasure and a cultural gem. Since its inception in 2021, the series has evolved into a branded event with significant social influence and cultural appeal. She encouraged artists to immerse themselves in frontline conservation efforts, using their brushes, pens, and lenses to tell the story of the Qinling Mountains, take the lead as “Guardians of the Qinling,” and rally public support for its protection.
Xue Yazhou highlighted that in recent years, Xi’an has implemented a four-pronged approach of “systematic governance, regulatory protection, planned management, and smart monitoring,” regularizing specialized campaigns against illegal hunting and unauthorized traversing. The choice of Cuihuashan, known as the “Solitary Beauty of Zhongnan,” as the venue aimed to use cultural activities as a bridge, allowing the natural charm and cultural richness of the Qinling Mountains to resonate deeply with people.

The event featured poetry recitations like “The Silent Realm of Qinling” and Qinqiang opera performances such as “Journey with Reverence,” which conveyed the message of “rejecting unauthorized traversing” in an engaging manner. The song “Voice of Qin” expressed a heartfelt connection to the mountains. Wang Xingzhou noted that previous editions of the event, through segments like “Brush and Ink: Qinling” and “Lens: Qinling,” showcased the multifaceted beauty of the region. The fifth edition introduces a new global original song collection titled “Singing: Qinling,” adding a musical dimension to the world’s understanding of the mountains.

It was reported that this year’s activities will adopt an “online + offline” integrated approach to build a communication network. Offline events will focus on initiatives like “Guardians of Qinling,” targeting youth, families, and the broader society. The campaign aims to deepen the consensus of “revering, cherishing, and protecting the Qinling Mountains,” positioning them as a vivid window for the world to understand China’s ecological civilization.
The event was jointly organized by six departments, including the Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Department of Education, co-hosted by the Xi’an Qinling Ecological and Environmental Protection Administration and China.org.cn’s Ecological China Channel, with support from multiple art institutions and the Cuihuashan Scenic Area.
