Conference for Application and Revalidation of Global Geopark
26th Nov., Conference for Application and Revalidation of Global Geopark which is hosted by Yuan Xiaohong has been held in Zhanjiang Park of Leiqiong Geopark by Geological Environment Department of Ministry of Land and Resources of PRC. Chen Xiaoning, Zhang Chaoqun, Luo Xiping and other more than 70 leaders and represents attended this conference. Helping some geoparks to greet application and revalidation by UNESCO in 2014 is the purpose of this conference.

There are two geoparks share their experience for application (Shennongjia Global Geopark, Yanqing Global Geopark) and six geoparks share their methods of work for revalidation (Xingwen Global Geopark, Yandangshan Global Geopark, Taining Global Geopark, Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark, Alxa Desert Global Geopark and Hexigten Global Geopark). And leaders and experts give some analyses about the problems and direction for global geopark in our country and some advices to the geopark who will greet application and revalidation in 2014.
Speech by Chen Xiaoning
Chen Xiaoning gives a speech in the conference, which concludes five points. First, she says that every geopark do their best to do the work about geopark; second, there are many problems in our geopark, for example, there is no perfect organized system and growth mechanism so that it is difficult to application and revalidation; third, she asks every geopark to use same identification, formulate integrated boundary and solve some problem about geopark in different province, city and county; fourth, she advises to establish joint conference to form estimated scheme, identification and web sites; at last, she hope that the two geoparks can pass the application and six global geopark can pass the revalidation in 2014.
