A series of Ecology-protecting Day activities including “Caring About Qinling” and “I Have A Date With Qinling” were held in the core scenic area of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark by the Geopark, Xi’an Evening News, Sanqin Daily and Cofco Coca-Cola. These activities were attended by Mr. Wang Tao (deputy director general of Ecology and Environment of Xi’an ), Mr. Gao Jingyi (director of Sanqin Daily), Mr. Shi Jingxue (deputy director of Sanqin Daily) and leaders of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark Tourism Development Co. Ltd.
Activities such as “Planting Trees in Qinling” and “Qinling in My Eye – Kids Painting Display” were held. Rich and colorful activities attracted people of different ages and from different walks of life. Some of them were company staff, some were NGO workers, some were college students and some were retired people over 80 years old. They planted trees in Qinling and read Civilization Convention out loud, promoting the protection of Qinling with their practical action.
People were divided into small groups of three. All of them were passionate. With two hours of work, thousands of trees were planted and Qinling became greener.
The new concept of ecology – “green hills and clear waters are mountains of gold and silver” brings citizens with blue sky, clear water, green hills and clean land. Qinling Zhongnanshan promotes the concept of co-building and sharing and tries to maintain the beautiful scenery of the Geopark.
