Li Gang, deputy secretary-general of Huanggang City, Hubei Province, lead Dabieshan Global Geopark to visit Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark in 2nd Sep. The group visits the museum, cuihuashan landslide geological heritage and Tianchi spot, who are accompanied by Jiang Jianjun, chairman of Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark Tourism Development Limited Company.
The chairman, Jiang Jianjun, gives geopark’s basic information and development to the group, so does Gao Zhifeng, director of Huanggang Dabieshan Geopark Management Office. Geological heritage protection, infrastructure development, interpretation system, tourism management and sustainable development are important points of their discussion, and Dabieshan Geopark gives high evaluation on management, communication, cooperation and geological education on public of Zhongnanshan Geopark.
At last, the two geoparks has an agreement of “Complementarity, Resource Sharing and Common Development” to develop “金 (means the best…)”global geopark together.
Huanggang Dabieshan UESCO Global Geopark, with a core area of 2625.54 square kilometers, located in the south of Dabie Mountains, and to the northeast of Hubei Province, is situated at the north bank of the Yangtze River. As an important dividing line of geography, geology, climate and ecology of the Central Orogenic System in China, with the significance of global geological comparison, Huanggang Dabieshan UESCO Global Geopark retains multiple phases of deformation ever since Archean and various geoheritages resulted of magmation. Combined peaks, forest, pools and water-falls with religious culture, folk custom and historic human heritages, there are ridges and peaks, sea clouds, vast forest, singing birds and sweet-scented flowers. Characterized by the continental orogenic belt structure and granite mountain landscape, Huanggang Dabieshan UESCO Global Geopark boasts rich geosites, unique natural and culture heritage, which are rare, representative, integral, systematical and beautiful, is not only a natural laboratory of geoscientific research and research base for orogenic belt, but also a nature protected area with good ecological environment, profound culture and high scientific value.
