On November 26 and 27, at the invitation of Shaanxi Huashan National Geopark Management Committee, a team of 13 people, led by Mr. Wang Chuang, deputy director general of Xi’an Natural Resources and Planning Bureau and including personnel Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark Management Office and its eight scenic spots, attended the signing ceremony of sister-park relationship between Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark and Huashan National Geopark.
At the signing ceremony, Zhao Xiaolong, deputy secretary of the Party committee and executive deputy director of Management committee of Huashan National Geopark and Yang Jianping, director of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark Management Office introduced their respective geoparks. Deputy director general Wang Chuang praised the two parks for actively seeking regional cooperation and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results. He pointed out that in the post-epidemic era, in order to achieve high-quality development, the two parks have strengthened practical contact, shared internal publicity, collided management thinking, shared advanced experience, and deeply discussed the integration of human and ecology, so as to better inherit the natural heritage and Chinese culture.
In the end, with the witness of leaders of Shaanxi Forestry Bureau, the two geoparks signed a sister-park relationship agreement and exchanged gifts. The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in the construction of geopark by means of "cloud publicity", jointly explore the Qinling culture, jointly study the development of tourism in the post-epidemic era, jointly discuss the integration of protection and development and visit and learn from each other to build the Shaanxi geopark brand by long-term exchanges. After the meeting, Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark delegation visited and had a discussion with personnel from the tourist service center, museum and scenic area of Huashan National Geopark, under the leadership of Ma Yaofeng, deputy director of Huashan National Geopark management Committee, which laid a foundation for future cooperation.
General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor, the Terracotta Warriors, the Pagoda of Yan 'an, the Qinling Mountains and The Huashan Mountains are the spiritual and natural symbols of Chinese civilization, Chinese revolution and Chinese geography. The signing of the sister-park relationship agreement is a beneficial attempt for the two geoparks to actively implement the theory of “two mountains”. By strengthening cooperation, improving technical exchanges and optimizing the construction of geopark management system, the two sides will create a geopark golden brand and greatly enhance the international influence.
