Review Meeting of the Master Plan of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark (2020-2030) Was Held

On the afternoon of April 20th, 2021, the review meeting of the Master Plan of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark (2020-2030) was held on the 2nd floor of the Municipal Resources Planning and Service Building. The meeting was chaired by Gao Likai, director of the Resources Division of the Xi’an Natural Resources and Planning Bureau. Wang Chuang, deputy director general, attended the meeting, which invited five experts from Northwest University, Chang 'an University, Xi 'an University of Science and Technology, Shaanxi Geology and Mining Group and North China Petroleum Group to participate in the review.

At the meeting, Yang Jianping, director of the Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark Management Office, introduced the compilation process of the master plan and suggestions offered by related government departments. Xi ‘an Jinbo Tourism Resources Development Co., Ltd. made a report on the master plan in combination with the policy requirements of the protection of Qinling and geological relics and displayed the planning maps. And then the experts carried out a serious discussion on the plan, shared opinions on the revision of the plan and agreed that the plan passed.

Wang Chuang, deputy director general, put forward three requirements: First, Xi’an Jinbo Tourism Resources Development Co., Ltd. should revise the master plan according to the suggestions and opinions of the experts and meet the experts’ requirements; Second, the master plan must have a clear planning period and detailed objectives, combining with the revalidation and long-term plans of the geopark and the inheritability of the plan; Third, do a research on the overall requirements, key tasks and policies of the protection of Qinling’s ecology and environment, so as to make sure that the master plan conforms to related government requirements and policies.
