On the afternoon of October 28, 2021, entrusted by Wang Chuang Deputy Director General, Yang Jianping, director of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark Management Office, presided over the review meeting of the Impact Assessment on Geological Relics by Shaanxi Zhen’an Pumped Storage Power Station 330 kv Transmission Line Project through Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark. The review meeting is attended by Resources Department of Xi’an Natural Resources Bureau, Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark Management Office, Forestry Bureau of Huyi District and Xi’an Power Supply Company of State Grid Shaanxi Electric Power Company.
Five experts were invited to the review meeting and they were from Xi’an University of Science and Technology, Xi’an University of Finance and Economics, and Shaanxi Geology and Mining Group etc. The conclusion that the project has a slight impact on geological relics given in the report was approved. At the same time, the experts also proposed targeted solutions, requiring reporting units to enrich the content of the report and modify the report strictly in accordance with relevant requirements.
In the end, Director Yang Jianping, on behalf of Wang Chuang, Deputy Director General, made requirements for the participating units of the project. He highlighted that the proposed project should accept the supervision and management of provincial, municipal and county forestry administration departments during the design and construction phase, so as to better protect all kinds of geological relics; The report preparation unit should modify the report according to the suggestions and requirements given in the meeting, and the expert group should come up with the final review opinions; Xi’an Power Supply Company of State Grid Shaanxi Electric Power Company should earnestly implement the protection measures and construction suggestions put forward in the Impact Assessment Report. Forestry Bureau of Huyi District should support the project within its scope of responsibility. Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark Management Office should supervise and inspect the protection from time to time.
After the completion of the proposed project, Xi’an Power Supply Company of State Grid Shaanxi Electric Power Company should establish and improve the environmental protection emergency plan, accept the review of Xi’an Natural Resources and Planning bureau (Forestry Bureau), and realize the harmonious development of the construction of national key energy infrastructure and the protection of geological relics in the geopark.
