In order to meet the requirements of the Global Geopark Network for science popularization services without time and space constraints, implement the national “14th five year plan” on in-depth development of mass tourism, promote the construction of tourism scenes led by “Internet +” , innovate the “smart tourism” public science popularization service mode, and help the intelligent transformation of geoparks, from June 20 to June 22, under the leadership of Director Yang Jianping, the staff of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark Management Center conducted two rounds of preliminary investigation and demonstration on the project of cloud digital museum of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark.
At the report meeting, the design company introduced the conception and implementation path for the virtualization of the digital museum. The cloud digital museum of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark will change the 2,460m2 of exhibition content from “entity” to “virtual”, which can be displayed to the public through websites, mobile phones and other media. With the help of “Internet +”, it will provide the public online exhibitions without time and space limitations, so that the public are able to freely enjoy the popular science pictures, introductions and videos same as what they do in the physical museum.
It is expected that the building of the cloud museum will serve as a publicity medium for the physical museum, supplement the deficiencies of the physical museum in exhibition, establish a new channel for communication between the global geopark and the public, improve the science popularization education function of the physical museum, and set an example for the development of other physical museums.
