At the beginning of the new year, a 4-member research group led by Professor Xu Kejian from China University of Geosciences (Beijing), accompanied by Professor Wu Chengji from Shaanxi Normal University and Professor Hao Junqing from Xi’an University of Finance and Economics, visited Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark Management Center. It is the first time that the research team of China University of Geosciences (Beijing) has entered Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark for scientific research, focusing on the relationships between the geological characteristics of Guanzhong Basin and its culture. The research team will conduct a one week on-site research activity.
At the symposium, Yang Jianping, Director of the Management Center, generally introduced Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark. Both sides shared their experiences and thoughts on the organization structuring, community participation and cooperation, science popularization activities, biodiversity, the relationship between agriculture and geoparks, and re-evaluation criteria etc.
Then the research team made their first stop at Cuihuashan Scenic Area, the core scenic area of the Geopark.
