On May 28, a four-member delegation from the Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark Management Center, led by Deputy Director Wang Fang, visited the Department of Geology at Northwest University. The delegation conducted an exchange symposium with Professor Chen Feng (Party Secretary of the Department), Professor Guo Anlin, and Professor Lu Rukui.
Deputy Director Wang briefed the professors on the geopark’s developments over the past four years, encompassing organizational development, geological heritage conservation, strategic initiatives, and current priorities. Professor Guo Anlin, serving as the geopark’s gegional development expert, offered substantive recommendations regarding the integration of the geopark’s core philosophy with regional economic development, ecological advancement, and the application of artificial intelligence. Professor Lu Rukui, as the geopark’s scientific research expert, presented multiple insights for future development. He committed to providing professional support by presenting the geopark’s achievements through a data-driven way.
In concluding remarks, Deputy Director Wang emphasized that the geopark’s development relies fundamentally on experts’ invaluable contributions. She affirmed that in future development the principle of “UNESCO Global Geoparks speak for Earth” will be comprehensively integrated into all aspects of daily operations.
