In August 2025, the Short Video Competition on Qinling Ecological Protection, hosted by the Xi’an Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, successfully concluded. In response to the call, the Taiping Scenic Area of the Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark actively organized its employees to participate in the competition. Ultimately, two employees stood out with their outstanding works, both winning third prize.
The event aimed to raise public awareness about ecological environmental protection in the Qinling region and promote the concept of green civilization. Through stunning visuals, the two award-winning videos vividly highlight the Rainbow Waterfall and the geopark’s diverse ecological waterways and geological formations. They seamlessly blended scientific advocacy for environmental conservation with artistic storytelling, creating educational works that spread the message of “harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.”
This achievement not only recognizes the individual capabilities of the employees but also reflects the long-term commitment of the Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark to ecological protection advocacy. The successive discoveries of nationally protected animals and plants, such as wild giant salamanders and Cardiocrinum cathayanum, within the geopark demonstrate that the ecological and environmental efforts in the Qinling Zhongnanshan region have entered a virtuous cycle of “improving ecological quality and the return of rare species.” Particularly this year, during special activities focused on wild bird protection, the scenic area has consistently conducted patrols and inspections, displayed promotional posters and videos, and distributed brochures, actively practicing the sustainable development philosophy of a global geopark.
Moving forward, the geopark will continue to innovate its promotional methods and actively participate in various ecological and cultural activities, contributing to strengthening the ecological security barrier of the Qinling region and advancing the construction of an ecological civilization in the area.
