The Grand Opening Ceremony of Keketuohai UNESCO Global Geopark & the 2018 Seminar of Global Geopark Application and Revalidation have been held in Keketuohai UNESCO Global Geopark from Oct. 9 to Oct. 12 2018. The seminar provided a platform to discuss how to build, manage and develop a global geopark in a better way and how to deepen exchanges among global geoparks and a platform to share the experience in global geopark application and revalidation. Over 120 scholars and delegates from different global geoparks and NGOs attended the seminar.
Receiving the invitation from the organizing committee, Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark designated a representative to attend the grand opening ceremony and seminar. From Oct. 10 to 11, the representative attended the grand opening ceremony and the seminar, visited the geopark museum, main and vice-monuments and exhibition room, and inspected the 3rd mine area and Erzis grand canyon. The representative was deeply impressed by the contribution made by the 3rd-mine to our country, learnt about the culture of local nomads and the way the geopark involving in the local ecological tourism development and impressed by the enthusiasm of local residents to protect geosites and promote geoparks.
