2018 China Travel Destinations Ranking List (Shaanxi Province) was finally announced on Dec. 26 2018. Five geoparks of Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark were honored with the Most Popular Research-Learn-Travel Destination, the Most Popular Intelligent Travel Destination, and the Most Distinctive Travel Brand.
In 2018 Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark has put its focus on mountain travelling development, updated its functions and promoted its service quality. It has six science popularization education stations to construct an education system combining ecology, culture, geology, research and learning. The science popularization stations include Qinling International Juvenile Geoscience Campsite, Huaqing Palace Patriotism Education Base, Cuihuashan National Science Popularization Education Base, Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark Museum, Heihe Qinling Nature School and Science Popularization Information Station. They welcome 350,000 adolescents every year from China and abroad such as Germany, France and Korea.
Huaqing Palace, Zhuque, Taiping, Cuihuashan and Nanwutai were rated the most popular intelligent scenic areas. The five scenic areas provide intelligent services including self-service ticket office, mobile payment, real-time monitoring, voice broadcasting and WIFI coverage in visitor center and parking lot. The geopark has also built a 6km-long barrier-free sightseeing footpath making travelling possible for people with wheelchairs and baby carriages.
The most distinctive tourism brands were awarded to Cuihuashan Mountain Climbing Festival and Taiping Chinese Redbud Flower Festival, which have been held for 17 times and 14 times respectively. They have been a postcard for Qinling tourism and attracted tourists from all over the world.
