From March 30 to April 2023, the science popularization staff of Qinling International Juvenile Camp in the Zhuque Scenic Area of Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark visited more than ten primary and secondary schools to carry out the “Understanding Nature, Protecting Ecology” - Science Popularization on Campus Activity, which practiced President Xi Jinping’s ecological protection concept of “green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains”. The activity provided the opportunity for students to know and cherish Qinling, understand the meaning of the unity of knowledge and action and the importance of learning in travel, and stimulate students’ enthusiasm to explore the mysteries of science and nature. The schools included Xi’an Huian Primary School, Xi’an No. 45 Primary School, Huyi Xiangqiao Primary School and Huyi No. 8 Primary School etc.

The activity was mainly aimed at primary and secondary school students. Considering their age characteristics and teaching aims, the activity focused on popularizing knowledge on animals, plants, geology and basic knowledge of survival in the wild. Through rich science popularization exhibitions, lively and professional lectures, interesting interactions, and practical courses, students are immersed in the ocean of natural knowledge.

Combining local natural uniqueness and teaching aims, Qinling International Juvenile Camp carries out science popularization educations on animals, plants and geology, labor practices, physical fitness expansion trainings, basic knowledge of outdoor survival, as well as outdoor experience activities such as picnics and campings mainly for primary and secondary school students home and abroad.

Since June 2015, Qinling International Juvinile Camp have held nature experience activities for over 300,000 children from Xi’an, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Chengdu, Yunnan, Gansu, Henan, Heilongjiang and other provinces and cities, as well as South Korea, France and Germany.
